/rdbX [Revolutionary Software, Inc]

/rdbX is an easy-to-use forms data entry and retrieval tool for the XWindow System/OPEN LOOK environment. It simplifies the use of /rdb andprovides a user-friendly frontend for both non-UNIX professionals andusers with a solid UNIX background. /rdbX uses distinct windows toperform specific functions. The forms design window is where layout,validation, and action buttons are specified for each field. The datamodification window is where data is entered on the form. A query displaywindow shows the results of applying the column, row, sort, and/or joinfilters to the table, solving most of the straightforward reporting needsof the majority of users.Without any special knowledge of UNIX shell programming, users canquickly create and modify databases; display information in convenientways; and enter, sort, and generate final output in a variety of formats.The underlying database software, /rdb, is available separately.
